Male Athlete of the Issue: Frank Kamaleson

Written by: Paxton Towe

At the beginning of the tennis season in February, the tennis team held a lot of uncertainty about the upcoming season. With alumni Henry Berg and Nico Dascombe gone, who played 1st singles and 2nd singles respectively, the team’s legacy as a top-performing sport at Country Day was in question. However, in moments of ambiguity, leaders and heroes are created, and that is just what has happened so far in this season for one player in particular.

Frank Kamaleson is currently a Freshman at Country Day and, despite his young age, has led the boys' tennis team in boasting an impressive 16-5 record so far by often playing opponents three years older than him and beating them. With a personal record of 18-3 in the season, Kamaleson leads the way for success in the team, virtually guaranteeing a win every time he steps on the court. With a wicked but consistent kick serve, combined with strategically placed ground strokes, Kamaleson is a force to be reckoned with.

Going into state playoffs, the team is going to need him more than ever to push through the best opponents Georgia has to offer; and they would put no other player but Frank Kamaleson in that position.
