Girls Soccer

You know them, you love them: your SCDS Women’s Soccer Team is officially back in season! This year, the Lady Hornets have welcomed MANY newcomers, with a total of nine new players on the team! Dare I say… a record number? As always, we started our season with lots of missing players, with a few participating in the musical “Mean Girls” and several playing basketball. Due to a lack of players, the season began with a bit of a rough start. However, the Lady Hornets are known to prevail through the toughest hardships and we are about to have the biggest comeback the SCDS community has ever seen. Hornets, you are not going to want to miss this. We are back and better than ever.

This year, we have five lovely seniors who have each given their all to this program since freshman year. Emma Bromley, the 2025 Region Player of the year and Division I College of Charleston soccer commit, is returning from an ACL injury, but she continues to show that nothing can stop her. She is getting back into the game, and we are so excited to see what this season has to offer for her. Lauren Lewis has been a strong defensive focal point for our team, earning 2nd Team All Region her junior year. Lauren is a constant inspiration to the underclassmen on our team, always being a calm and collected spirit that keeps all of us grounded. Madeleine Ham, a frequent outside winger, is known for her joyful and kind presence. Her heartwarming personality and humor has always been a driving force in bringing the team together. Molly Hildebrandt: where do we even begin? Molly’s constant jokes and bright demeanor have thankfully returned as she completed her final basketball season, earning 1st Team All Region to end her last season with a bang. Her quick defensive skills and her knowledge of the game is remarkable, and we can’t wait to see her shine one last time.

This is also unfortunately my last season as a Lady Hornet. This team, through its many rewarding seasons, has taught me so much. I will be forever grateful for Hooker’s Army, and I cannot wait to watch our legacy live on. As always, #BDBDC.
