Strange Bird Review

by Lydia Harlander and Liza Grace Bromley

If you are looking for a new restaurant to enjoy…… Strange Bird is the place to go!

Strange Bird is located at 1220 Barnard Street in Savannah's Victorian District. The restaurant is a restored historic streamliner, which adds a one of a kind touch. There are aspects of the downtown food life, but it also has a very casual vibe. On February 11th, 2025, an overnight fire took place in the streamliner, causing them to shut down. Strange Bird reopened a little after a year later, on March 13th, 2026, returning with their original menu, which is such a hit! Strange Bird specializes in Mexican cuisine, and is a part of the Farm Hospitality Group, a chain including many popular restaurants such as Flora and Fauna and Common Thread. One of their best sellers, “The Birria Burger” combines a juicy burger with the rich, savory flavors of Mexican birria. Another hit is the three tacos combo, where you have a choice of crispy chicken , GA shrimp, and so much more. Overall, Strange Bird is a top restaurant in Savannah if you are looking for a fun place to eat with your friends, so you should definitely check it out.
