Laundry Diner Review

Written by Eloise Goldstein

As a tourist town, Savannah needs good breakfast restaurants. Spots that immediately come to mind are classic downtown places like Clary’s and The Collins Quarter, or bakeries like Auspicious. However, one of my new favorite breakfast places is a recently opened restaurant, the Laundry Diner. The Laundry held its soft opening in June 2025 and is run by the same people as Two Tides Brewing Co., a Starland staple. The restaurant is in an old laundromat and is filled with photos of what it used to look like. The whole place has an adorable retro vibe and great ambiance. This was my most recent trip to the Laundry, and like the two before, it did not disappoint. I had a busy day ahead of me, filled with the multicultural festival, closing night of Spring Shorts, and a piano recital, so I was in the mood for a delicious breakfast. I drove to the diner, just five minutes away from my house, and had a seat at a booth. The menu was really big and had breakfast, lunch, and dinner served all day (as well as some delicious looking desserts). We had excellent service and an extremely friendly waitress named Natalya with gummy bear earrings who asked about our days. I was about to order two waffles, but my dad encouraged me to get three instead. I soon realized three was a mistake, but I ate them all anyway. The waffles come with butter and syrup, and I got mine with strawberries. My dad ordered a short rib hash bowl with eggs, which was savory and delicious. A few weeks before we went to the Laundry, fashion designer Michael Kors took a trip to Savannah and loved the Laundry. So, if you don’t take your recommendation from me, take it from him.

On previous visits to the diner, I have gotten a breakfast burrito and a jumbo cinnamon roll, both of which were incredible. I highly recommend the Laundry diner for both tourists and locals wanting a fantastic meal.
