Music Review: Nautilus

Written by: Paxton Towe and Elijah Nguyen

Nautilus is the name of the fantastic new band that has been putting on shows all around Savannah. The band is composed of five Savannah Country Day seniors: Paxton Towe, Gabby Galoni, Coleman Huggins, Connor Umbel, and Luke Nguyen. Gabby is the band’s lead singer, who effortlessly sings every song on the set list with perfection. Connor Umbel is the guitarist of the band who was recently selected to be the guitarist in the all-state jazz band. He can even play the guitar behind his head.  Coleman Huggins is the band’s drummer, whose expert playing keeps the band in sync. There is also Paxton Towe, the bass player, who directs the band through his playing of the core notes of each chord. Finally, behind the scenes, Luke Nguyen tirelessly controls the sound of each member, keeping everything in balance.

Overall, I have attended three Nautilus shows at the Landings Park, the Clyde Market, and at the Southbridge pool. All three were extremely good, and I am looking forward to the next one. Overall, I rate Nautilus a 4.8/5.
