Women’s Soccer

The girls soccer team finished last season as region champions after beating St. Vincent’s Academy 1-0, and reached the elite eight in the state playoffs losing a tough match to Oconee County 1-0. They have started the year off undefeated with a 4-0 record after defeating Statesboro 8-0, Effingham County 5-0, Glynn Academy 3-1, and Hilton head Prep 1-0, with College of Charleston Commit, Emma Bromley, leading the way with 5 goals and 3 assists and Kate Hunter not far behind with 5 goals and 2 assists. The Hornets are led by three seniors this year, Sophia Okumu, Harris Stone, and Mary Mobley Varnedoe, and are hopeful to be undefeated in the region and make a deep run in the state playoffs. They have seven home games this year so be sure to make it out to Saunders Field to watch them play!
