Campus Life

The SCDS back-to-school season has been packed full of excitement. A big highlight so far was homecoming week, which featured fun themes like Meme Monday, Wig Wednesday, and Throwback Thursday, letting students fully get into the school spirit. The week capped off with a big win against Savannah Christian at the homecoming game, with amazing cheerleaders and a very loud student section supporting the team. From volleyball to cross country, the Hornets have been on a fall sports winning streak. At the homecoming dance, everyone partied so hard that the Quad broke and is finally fixed, hopefully with extra strength for next year.

Academic classes and clubs are also back in business. After a very successful clubs and activities fair, almost 50 clubs, teams, and service projects have started up. The Speech and Debate team had an international debate where they came to school at midnight and debated through their sleepiness.

The one-act play Kodachrome opens this month, with performances on October 22, 23, and 24!

Back to school for the Hornets has been filled to the brim with activities, athletics, arts, and academics. The PSAT is fast approaching, as well as our much-needed fall break.
